I was thoroughly impressed with this snapshot that i was able to take.
The dear let us get very close indeed.
The dear let us get very close indeed.
We figured it must have been around people a lot as a fawn,
to be so friendly with us.
to be so friendly with us.

It was simply amazing to me how close Mike was able to get to this deer.
We were both so excited and cautious not to scare it away the entire time.
I yell with a whisper, "Mike, try to pet it!"

about our friendly dear. He didn't have anything, really, to pet.
Apparently all the fur and skin and much of it's muscle mass
was entirely absent.
After a little deliberation we decided that perhaps this wildlife encounter
was made possible, not because the dear was so friendly,
but, rather because it was so dead.

As tradition dictates, Mike was forced to perform the ritual of
making a snow angel in close proximity to the deceased.
On our way back to the cabin, we were attacked by a vicious, rabid, wolf. Perhaps the same one that deprived mike of the very stuff on that deer Mike so desirously wished to pet. (seriously guts and fecal matter just don't cut it when it comes to petting things).making a snow angel in close proximity to the deceased.
We talked about Native American Religion. And, i figured, because of our respect for diversity and our cultural awareness, the dog, err, i mean WOLF, spared our lives. We survived.
We went back to the cabin and prepared lunch. Avocado and Cheese sandwiches. Not too bad.
Here is the recipe:
Two slices of bread
Avocado
cheese
mustard
put Avocado, cheese and mustard between two slices of bread.
BAM! You've got yourself an Avocado and Cheese sandwich.
